She's Well Fed Fundamentals
My work with body reclamation focuses on creating holistic shifts in three major relationships we have with our body.
Body Reclamation
Reclaiming Relationship with Body Awareness
When we've lived within the confines of beauty and diet culture, we can often disconnect from our body's actual needs. We can struggle to hear her voice guiding us towards our intuition and deep knowing. I work with women to reconnect to our first home -our body- and to learn to hear and listen to her unique voice.
Reclaiming Relationship with Food
When diet culture has permeated our relationship with food, we can lose the joy in eating, We may engage in restrictive or chaotic behaviors with food. I work with women to release the fear and worry around eating, and to start nourishing their bodies with awareness and intuition.
Reclaiming Relationship with Movement
When we've always seen exercise as a means to change or shrink our bodies, we can miss out on all the benefits and joy of movement. I work with women to identify their unique movement personality and to deconstruct harmful ideas about exercise. Let's work together to identify the joyful movement your body craves.
Your Questions Answered
There is plenty of misinformation in the world, particularly around bodies, food, and wellness. I've answered some of my most frequently asked questions.
"Isn't Intuitive Eating just eating whatever you want?"
Yes and no. Intuitive eating is much more than giving ourselves unconditional permission to have any and all food. Intuitive eating is just that-intuitive. It's a deep connection with ourselves and our bodies, allowing us to make mindful and conscious choices around food and movement. Learn more from the creators of the Intuitive Eating framework here.
"Anti-diet means you're anti-health!"
Nope. Being anti-diet means I am against diet culture and the way it harms individuals and our communities. I'm in favor of a broad and inclusive definition of health. More on that can be found here.
"What if I still want to lose weight?"
Above everything else, I believe that each individual person has a right to bodily autonomy. What this means in my work is that I guide clients to have a more informed and thorough understanding about why they may feel the way they do about their bodies. I do not provide diet plans, and I will not encourage restrictive relationships with food or their body. I will, however, honor your desire to live in a body that allows you to do all that you wish in your life.
